Marcelino Arca Sr.
Marcelino Arca Sr., 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born June 2, 1916, in the Philippines. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired musician.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; four daughters, Cecilia Jones of Las Vegas, Esther Acevedo and Elizabeth Manzano, both of West Covina, Calif., and Gloria Bautista of Walnut, Calif.; three sons, Frankie Arca of Glendale, Calif., and Marcelino Arca Jr. and Enrique Arca, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Minda Castillo of West Covina; two brothers, Jose Arca of West Covina and Totos Arca of the Philippines; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.
Thomas Grugan Daly
Thomas Grugan Daly, 65, of Las Vegas died July 26 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 3, 1939, in New York City. A resident for 59 years, he was a teacher at Western and Las Vegas high schools, a Vietnam War Navy veteran, a 1957 graduate of Rancho High School and a member of the UNLV Athletic Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie; one daughter, Jill Ressler of Layton, Utah; one son, James W. Schaefer Jr. of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A private burial will follow.
The family suggests donations to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Foundation, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89154.
Eugene C. Hamilton
Eugene C. Hamilton, 95, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 15, 1909, in Glenwood, Iowa. A resident for nine years, he was a retired service manager for an air conditioning company.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth Hamilton of Las Vegas; one daughter, Laureen Morrow of Acme, Pa.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Caroline Henderson
Caroline Henderson, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 21, 1939, in Panguitch, Utah. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired customer service representative for a utility company.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; three sons, Roger K. Wixom of Las Vegas and Randy Helquist and Craig Helquist, both of Colorado; one daughter, Marianne Helquist; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Antonio 'Cheesie' Herrera
Antonio "Cheesie" Herrera, 92, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Sept. 22, 1912, in Chamita, N.M. A resident for 44 years, he retired as a custodian for an electrical contractor at the Nevada Test Site.
He is survived by three sons, John Herrera of Las Vegas, Fred Herrera of Santa Fe, N.M., and Leroy Herrera of Henderson; one brother, Delfino Archuleta of Geneva, N.Y.; one sister, Rose Velarde of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. with services at 4:30 today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Donald F. Lawrence
Donald F. Lawrence, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Redding, Pa. A resident for 45 years, he retired as an electrical engineer from the federal government and was a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Opal R.; three daughters, Linda K. Hulsizer and Kelly J. Clinton, both of Las Vegas, and Kerri L. Birch of Chester Springs, Pa.; one son, Jeffrey F. Lawrence of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be noon Saturday in Los Prados Country Club. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Freddie L. McCormick
Freddie L. McCormick, 70, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Dallas. A resident for 52 years, he was an airline skycap.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; four daughters, Glenda Wright, Brenda Jones, Linda McCormick and Gwenda Foy, two stepdaughters, Joretha Hawkins and Marva Williams, and one stepson, Marvin Bass, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Gloria Freeman and Billie Graham, both of Texas; 29 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, Las Vegas. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Graveside services will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Teodora Mundo
Teodora Mundo, 87, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Mariana Islands, Rota. A resident for 31 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Ines Castro, Teresita Anderson and Lydia Bowers, and two sons, David Mundo and Martin Mundo, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
James H. Owen
James H. Owen, 87, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Marion, Ill. A resident for five years, he was a retired firefighter and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Elda; one daughter, Janet A. Deffebach of Alhambra, Calif.; two sons, James C. Owen of Roseburg, Ore., and John H. Owen of Corona, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Marcus Twain Sylvester
Marcus Twain Sylvester, 42, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Kanab, Utah. He was born March 31, 1963, in Las Vegas. A resident for 36 years, he was a general superintendent in the construction industry.
He is survived by one daughter, Taylor, his mother, Hama, and one sister, Nita, all of Las Vegas and one son, Robert of Henderson.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Roosevelt Wilcher
Roosevelt Wilcher, 71, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Rupert, Ga. A resident for four years, he was a retired psychiatric aide for a state mental health center, a retired Air Force staff sergeant and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; one son, Gary Wilcher, and two daughters, Lisa Cole and Jill Wilcher, all of Henderson; and one sister, Janie Woolfolk of Bloomfield, Conn.
Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Friday with services following at 2 p.m. in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Steven R. Wiseman
Steven R. Wiseman, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 15, 1953, in Salt Lake City. He was an Army nurse who served at the U.S. Military Academy. After retiring from nursing he owned Wise-Man Window Cleaning in Las Vegas. He was also a medal-winning diver in the Junior Olympics and a friend of Bill W for more than 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Richards Wiseman; two sons, Richard Wiseman, serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, and James Matz of White Haven, Pa.; one daughter, Sharon Matz of Las Vegas; two brothers, Edmond Wiseman and Jack Wiseman, both of Syracuse, Utah; one sister, Jill Hallett of Sarasota, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 6 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
