Activities planned for disabled adults
Leisure Connection, a social group for high-functioning adults with developmental disabilities, sponsored by Las Vegas Leisure Services, provides recreational activities that promote socialization and independence in the community.
Activities include bowling, movies, lunch and dinner outings, sports e4vents and leisure education classes. Activity schedules are mailed out monthly to each participant.
Reservations must be made in advance for each event. For more information, or to be placed on the activity schedule mailing list, call 229-5177.
Service helps to make ends meet
The Consumer Credit Counseling Service is offering the free class "Making Ends Meet and Dreams Come True," at 6 p.m. Aug. 25 in the counseling service's Conference Center, 2650 S. Jones Blvd.
Participants will learn methods to organize spending, reduce debt and build a brighter future, and maintain a good credit history without making costly or hazardous mistakes.

A free Legal Assistance Outreach
program will be offered to seniors ages 60 and older from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 5 at these locations: East Las Vegas Community Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., 229-1515; Lieburn Senior Center, 6230 Garwood Ave., 229-1600; Doolittle Senior Center, 1950 N. J St., 229-6125.
Each Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Cimarron Rose Community Center,
5591 N. Cimarron Road, is Children's Night Out for ages 5-12. Children play games, make crafts, eat a themed dinner and watch a movie. Register in person by Thursday of same week. Cost is $12; drop-in rates apply if there is space availability. Call 229-1607.
