The parent company of Mesa View Regional Hospital in Mesquite reported today a profit of $58.9 million, 74 cents per share, for the second quarter.
Plano, Texas-based Triad Hospitals Inc. reported the profit after a year-ago loss of $5.2 million, 7 cents per share. The profit includes $5.9 million in discontinued operations from the sale of seven outpatient surgery centers in Phoenix to Banner Health.
Second-quarter revenue rose 12 percent to $1.21 billion from $1.07 billion in the year-ago quarter.
In June, Triad spent $5.3 million after taxes to refinance its $843 credit facility, increasing it to $1.1 billion.
Triad opened the 21-private room Mesquite hospital a year ago. The hospital was a $32 million investment and has the ability to expand to 40 patient beds.
