NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE

The Las Vegas Wash Arm continues to be fairly good for boaters fishing with anchovies and surface lures. No luck has been found recently by boaters in the Boulder Beach area.

Stripers have been seen on the surface recently around Beacon Island. Stripers also have been seen breaking the surface in Lake Mead Marina where fishing is prohibited.

NDOW census clerks checked two boaters Saturday who had caught 35 stripers around Fish Island in the Overton Arm. There have been reports as well of stripers slurping for small shad in a number of locations in the Overton Arm.

Fair action continues for largemouth and smallmouth bass in coves near Echo Bay Marina.

Boaters who have braved the hot weather have been mainly catching stripers that weigh less than a pound around Cottonwood Cove. Anchovies and squid are taking the fish.
