Barn dance
Las Vegas presents an "Old Time Barn Dance" from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Heights Center Ballroom, 800 S. Brush St. Admission is $6 adults, $5 members, $3 students and active military, free for children under 15. 229-6383.
Tropical night party
Las Vegas presents "Another Hot Tropical Night Party" from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Pavilion Center Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive. Activities include dancing, swimming, games, a DJ and live entertainment. Advance admission is $8 adults, $5 children under 14, $20 families of four; admission at the door is $10 adults, $7 children under 14, $25 for families of four. 229-1488.
Movie in the park
Las Vegas presents a free "Viva Las Vegas" sandcastle building contest and movie in the park from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road. The movie "Viva Las Vegas" will be shown. 229-2482.
Free movie
Las Vegas presents the movie "The Incredibles" at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. Admission is free. 229-1515.
Summer program
The North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, offers its Saturday Summer Program at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Activities will include crafts, stories and guest programs. Admission is free. 633-1070.

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District presents the following films as part of its film series this month. Admission is free:
Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road -- "Dead End," 1 p.m. Tuesday; "The Cuckoo" (Rated PG-13), 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. -- "Egypt: Secrets of the Pharaohs," 7 p.m. Wednesday.
