Participating lifeguard teams are limited to four members. The fee is $48 per team. Organizations may have a maximum of four lifeguard teams. Sponsorships supporting the event are available. The event is open to the public at no cost.

During these time-trials, attendees will watch as lifeguards race against the clock to check the conditions of swimmers in physical distress; contact emergency medical services personnel; perform CPR; keep injured individuals immobile or move them in the water; and assist paramedics by providing information.
