Former Caesars Palace chief appointed COO

Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. has appointed Mark Juliano as chief operating officer of the company effective Aug. 8.
Juliano was most recently president of Caesars Palace, which was purchased along with Caesars Entertainment Inc. assets last month by Harrah's Entertainment Inc. Trump Entertainment is a newly reorganized company that emerged from bankruptcy with plans to reinvest in its aging Atlantic City casinos. The company is no longer helmed by developer Donald Trump, who remains board chairman.
Juliano, former president of Caesars Atlantic City from 1994 to 1999, was widely believed to assume an executive post with Trump after news Friday that he was leaving Caesars.
"Mark is an outstanding addition to our management team," Chief Executive James Perry said in a statement. "He has the experience to lead our casinos through their physical and cultural transformation and the commitment to make Trump a leading operator of casinos throughout the world."
"The Trump properties have always been a vital part of Atlantic City and I look forward to helping to restore their dynamic role in the market," Juliano said in a statement.
Scott Butera, previously chief operating officer, will assume the role of chief strategic officer "where he will complete the recapitalization process undergone by the company and develop new strategic initiatives to expand the Trump brand in both domestic and international markets," the company said Tuesday.
