Property tax bills to reflect tax cap
Monday, July 18, 2005 | 9:45 a.m.
The Clark County treasurer's office this week will begin mailing out the 2005-06 property tax bills.
Those bills will reflect the property tax cap passed earlier this year by the Nevada Legislature. The cap -- 3 percent on owner-occupied property and 8 percent on most other property -- was designed to curb the impact of rapidly rising property values.
The bills also will show the taxes that would have been assessed if not for the new law.
Most taxpayers have the option of paying their taxes in four installments. The first installment is due Aug. 15.
