LV student elected SkillsUSA officer

Roselia Hernandez, a business technology student at Vo-Tech High School, was elected national high school secretary of SkillsUSA.

Elected during SkillsUSA's 41st annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City, Mo., Hernandez campaigned and spoke to student leaders from across the nation to win her position.

As a SkillsUSA national officer, Hernandez will serve as a student leader, spokeswoman and ambassador for the SkillsUSA organization and participate in national membership and industry tours during the 2005-2006 school year.

She will be asked to speak about SkillsUSA and skills training before students, instructors and representatives of business and industry. She will also be called on to represent the organization at various state and local events.

SkillsUSA is a national organization serving over 280,000 high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations.
