Commuter carrier to add Palm Springs flight
Thursday, July 14, 2005 | 11:14 a.m.
The commuter partner of America West Airlines will add a daily nonstop flight between Las Vegas and Palm Springs, Calif., beginning Oct. 1.
Mesa Airlines, operating as America West Express, will offer night flights linking the two desert resort cities, with flights leaving Palm Springs at 9:10 p.m. and arriving an hour later in Las Vegas and the return flight leaving McCarran International Airport at 11:59 p.m. and arriving in Palm Springs at 1:04 a.m. the next day.
The flight will connect to several night flights for America West, which operates a hub at McCarran and is the airport's second-busiest commercial passenger carrier.
The flights, which will be operated on 37-passenger twin-engine deHavilland Dash 8 propjet aircraft, will compete with three daily flights offered by United Express, the commuter partner of United Airlines.
