Women urged to register to vote

The Women's Suffrage Day Coalition encourages all women who are not registered to vote to participate in voter registration from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at all Clark County libraries and parks and recreation centers.

To honor the women suffragists and their 72 plus years advocating for women's right to vote, Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., is proposing a proclaimation for National Women"s Suffrage Day.

Tuesday, women are encouraged to register to vote, ask their co-workers, friends, and relatives to register to vote. There will be registration tables at the Parks and Recreation centers and libraries. You can register at http://www.co.clark.nv.us/election/home.asp

Sen. Joe Heck, R-Henderson, will speak about the 73rd legislative session at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Reading Room at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. For more information, call 614-5900.
