Colony Capital LLC, a Los Angeles-based real estate company, has created an affiliate company that will own and operate its recently acquired casino properties.
The company also has appointed Roger P. Wagner as chief operating officer of the new affiliate, Resorts International Holdings Inc. Wagner will manage Resorts' operations from its Las Vegas headquarters at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Resorts owns the Hilton as well as the Atlantic City Hilton, Resorts East Chicago, Resorts Tunica and Bally's Tunica. Those properties were acquired from Harrah's Entertainment Inc. and Caesars Entertainment Inc., which was bought out by Harrah's last month.
Wagner served as chief operating officer of Jack Binion's casino company, Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corp., from 1998 to 2004. Horseshoe was sold to Harrah's in July 2004.
