The U.S. Labor Department has announced that it is extending a $1.1 million grant to help prepare Nevada workers for hospitality jobs.
The money will be used to train more than 10,000 workers through a partnership between the Community College of Southern Nevada, the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association, the Nevada Hospitality Foundation and Station Casinos. The money will be used to reach out to potential workers and to help train workers in vocational English skills.
The grant, which has been awarded to the Southern Nevada Workforce Investment Board, is part of President Bush's High Growth Job Training Initiative.
