Super Saturday scheduled for kids
A free Super Saturday Celebration will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the James Gay Park at Owens Avenue and B Street.
The event will feature carnival games, clown art, face painting, jump house and a free educational mini workshop.
The event is presented by Ward 5 Outreach Services. Refreshments will be available. Call 229-2158.
Free blood pressure checks for seniors
50 and up will be offered beginning at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Doolittle Senior Center, 1950 N. J St. Call 229-6125.
Sheldon Takasaki of Carmela Orchids
will speak at the Greater Las Vegas Orchid Society's meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Nevada Garden Building at the corner of Washington Avenue and Twin Lakes Drive at Lorenzi Park. Call 251-1456.
