Brenda Baldwin
Brenda Baldwin, 64, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 16, 1940, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired nurse's aide.
She is survived by one son, Michael Baldwin of Las Vegas; one daughter, Paulette Oden of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; one sister, Kay Martin of Temecula, Calif.; and one granddaughter.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.
Albert Y. H. Chang
Albert Y. H. Chang, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Honolulu. A resident for five years, he was a retired civil service electronics supervisor and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Y.; two daughters, Debby R. DiBella of Honolulu and Melissa J. Chang of Las Vegas; one son, Robin M. Chang of Honolulu; and two grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Hawaii. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Marvin B. 'Kal' Kalkowski
Marvin B. "Kal" Kalkowski, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 30, 1926, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 58 years, he was a retired California hotel bellman, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine R.; and two half-brothers, Dick Broick of Denver and Jerry Broick of Cheyenne, Wyo.
Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
The family suggests donations to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, 1501 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89104.
John A. Mercurio
John A. Mercurio, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Detroit. A resident for eight years, he was a retired salesman of watch bands and a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his former wife of 39 years, Vera Mercurio.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia; three daughters, Judith Hill of Stanwood, Mich., Terri Rychener of Archbold, Ohio, and Deanna Nelms of Las Vegas; one son, Michael Mowery of New York City; one brother, Frank Mercurio of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. service at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Spring Valley Assembly of God Church, 7570 W. Peace Way.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Isabel Llama Liermo Oliver
Isabel Llama Liermo Oliver, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born March 13, 1920, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. A resident for three years, she was a retired motel owner-operator.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Patricia Madau-Welte of Las Vegas; one grandson, Michael Madau of Los Angeles; and two great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Florida. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Dorothy E. Reese
Dorothy E. Reese, 82, of Boulder City died Friday in a local hospital. She was born March 30, 1923, in Hiawatha, Utah. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired floral designer.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Cockrun and Jolene Lamb, two sons, Doug Reese and Robert Reese, and one sister, Helen Reese, all of Boulder City; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the of the LDS Fifth Street Relief Society Room. Entombment will follow in Palm Mausoleum, Boulder City.
Walter Simons Jr.
Walter Simons Jr., 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 4, 1925, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired Air Force fighter pilot, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; three daughters, Jill Ukeiley and Heidi Metellus, both of Las Vegas, and Karen Laub of Phoenix; one son, Mark Simons of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.
Willie Lee Watson
Willie Lee Watson, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 6, 1953, in Newellton, La. A resident for 42 years, he was a convention stagehand.
He is survived by one son, Alexander Watson of Las Vegas; and his parents, Dorothy and Bradley Vaughan of North Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
