A girl who has been separated from her family and transplanted to Las Vegas could benefit from a camping experience, writes her elementary school counselor.
"She just came to our school from out of state a couple of weeks ago," the counselor wrote. "She left siblings behind without understanding why. She is having a hard time adjusting to the change and making friends here. She cries often."
The counselor asked the Las Vegas Sun Camp Fund to send the girl to camp.
"Camp could make all the difference to her. It would give her a sense of belonging and help her improve her self-confidence," the counselor wrote.
All donations given to the Las Vegas Sun Camp Fund go directly towards camp scholarships. The Las Vegas Sun covers the administrative costs.
