Metro Police this morning were investigating the death of a Las Vegas man found Friday afternoon stabbed in his apartment.
Homicide detectives responded to the apartment, in the 2200 block of Tam Drive near Industrial Road and Sahara Avenue, about 4 p.m. after an apartment manager found the body of 63-year-old Oscar Paravicini.
An autopsy the next day found Paravicini, who was last seen alive earlier this month, died from multiple stab wounds. Anyone with information about his death is urged to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
Missing man found dead in car trunk
A detective searching for a missing man found him dead in the trunk of the victim's car Friday morning, Metro Police said.
The man was reported missing Dec. 23. While investigating the disappearance, Detective Lonnie Jolliff discovered that the missing man's car had been towed to a tow lot in the 3400 block of Losee Road.
Jolliff went to the tow lot about 10:30 a.m. Friday to search the car, he said, and when he opened the trunk he found the missing man dead inside.
The coroner's office did not release the man's name this morning. Jolliff said man's last known contact was with his girlfriend, Jolliff said.
Anyone with information about the case can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro's homicide section at 229-3521.
Man run over trying to push car
A 68-year-old Las Vegas man who was run over by his own car Sunday night had been upgraded from critical to fair condition this morning, a University Medical Center spokeswoman said.
Metro Police say Frederico Vallar's 1993 Pontiac Trans Sport would not start so he was trying to push and steer it into a parking space in the 9300 block of West Flamingo Road, near South Fort Apache Road, about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to Vallar's wife, Josefena Vallar, he was unable to stop the minivan as it gained speed and he slipped under the left front tire.
