Robert 'The Chief' Beckwith
Robert "The Chief" Beckwith, 80, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired owner of an electricital business and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; one sister, Micki Waller; and one brother, Milty Beckwith.
He is survived by two sons, Lane Beckwith of Las Vegas and Bruce Beckwith of Long Beach, N.Y.; one brother, Gerry Beckwith of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in King David King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, followed by burial followed in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Eric Bramwell Jackson
Eric Bramwell Jackson, 26, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 27, 1978, in Montrose, Colo. A resident for many years, he was a hotel lifeguard.
A memorial service was scheduled at 4 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. is handling arrangements.
Bertha Leake
Bertha Leake, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1916, in Ivan, Ark. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two cousins, Earlene Primm and Margie Coats, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Lois Virginia Logan
Lois Virginia Logan, 87, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Percel, Okla. A resident for 78 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Calvin Logan of Las Vegas, Harold Tomsik of Redding, Calif., and George Logan of Phoenix; one daughter, Judy Buckwald of Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Edith Wright of Nevada; one brother, Henry Lambert of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Donald McGonigle
Donald McGonigle, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was a retired fire chief and was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; one son, Christopher McGonigle of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. is handling arrangements.
Ronald Pink
Ronald Pink, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1938, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired general manager for an automobile dealership, an Army veteran, a member of B'nai B'rith, Sun City Chicago Club, and a civil defense volunteer in Morton Grove, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; two sons, Rory Pink and Bret Pink, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Herb Pink of Wheeling, Ill., and Phil Pink of Arlington Heights, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Luis Fernando Ramirez
Luis Fernando Ramirez, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1927, and was a restaurateur.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two sons, Jaime E. Fernandez and Carlos Paredes; one daughter, Bernice Sotelo; one sister, Antonia Paredes; and two brothers, Ramiro Ramirez of California and Miguel Paredes.
Services will be noon Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.
Eugene Turner
Eugene Turner, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born May 16, 1932, in Eatonton, Ga. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force senior master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three sons, Michael Turner of Florida, Malcolm Turner of Arizona and Martin Turner of Nevada; two daughters, Monica Welch and Michele Collins, both of Nevada; one sister, Lillian MacKall of Nevada; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be noon-5 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Central Christian Church, 3375 S. Mojave Road. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
The family suggests donations to Odyssey Health Care, 4011 McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
Everette Wallace
Everette Wallace, 76, of Wilmington, Del., died Saturday in Wilmington. He was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Scotland County, N.C. A former resident for 57 years, he was a retired captain for the North Las Vegas Fire Deptartment and a member of the firefighters' union.
He is survived by his wife, Amaryllis; two sons, Bill Wallace of Henderson and Ralph Wallace of Las Vegas; two daughters, Chere Whitaker of Las Vegas and Becky Johnston of Philadelphia; one brother, Joe Wallace of Jacksonville, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Civic Center and Tonopah chapel, 2401 E. Tonapah Ave. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
Richard R. Willis
Richard R. Willis, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 5, 1931, in Lake Park, Minn. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired auditor for the federal government and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death on Oct. 2, 2004, by his wife, Shirley.
He is survived by three daughters, Glory Ann Breese of Potter Valley, Calif., Charyl Van Pool of Reno and Athena Salseig of Beaverton, Ore.; one stepson, Robert Lish of Las Vegas; one brother, Walter Willis of Klamath Falls, Ore.; his twin sister, Layla Jorgensen of Sacramento; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
The family suggests donations to St. Jude Research Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Christine M. Young
Christine M. Young, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 21, 1951, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 22 years, she was a waitress.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle; her mother, Regina Polit, and two brothers, Stan Polit and Bobby Polit, all of Pittsburgh.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until a 3 p.m. service Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
