Station KCNV returns to air

Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 | 11:08 a.m.

Classical radio station KCNV 89.7-FM regained its broadcasting signal on Wednesday, after more than three days off the air.

Warren Brown, chief engineer for KCNV, said the station returned to the air around 11 a.m., despite continued weather damage to its broadcast equipment on Mount Potosi.

Brown said technicians remain unable to make repairs, or get information about the signal's return, because of a rockslide that blocked the only road to the tower.

KCNV went off the air early Sunday morning, after a chunk of ice fell on one of its antenna bays, according to Brown.
