James Robert 'Jimi' Arboleda

James Robert "Jimi" Arboleda, 50, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 12, 1954, in the Philippines. A resident for 25 years, he was an automobile sales finance manager and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one son, Philip James-Lucas Arboleda of Las Vegas; one daughter, Victoria Jean Arboleda of North Las Vegas; his parents, Fred and Amalia Arboleda of San Diego; one brother, Joe Arboleda of Temecula, Calif.; two sisters, Julie Beezley of La Mesa, Calif., and Jeanette Cahalin of Las Vegas; and his companion, Susan Grafton of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10:30 a.m. until a 2:30 p.m. funeral service at Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

John Leslie Baker

John Leslie Baker, 54, of Las Vegas died Jan. 18 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1950, in New York. A lifelong resident, he was an assistant keno manager at the Luxor.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Penny Baker-Lasker; one son, Noah Baker; one daughter, Cassandra Kay; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests donations to Beverly Baker-Lasker, 3963 Tera No. 1, Las Vegas, NV 89102.

Higenio M. Cordova

Higenio M. Cordova, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Arizona. A resident for 40 years, he was a chef at a local casino.

He is survived by two sons, Luis and Angel; two daughters, Norma and Sonia; six brothers, Luis, Miguel, Chato, Sergio, Lencho and Antonio; three sisters, Elia, Chepina and Enriqueta; and 11 grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is assisting with pending services.

Thaddeus W. 'Tad' Gniewek

Thaddeus W. "Tad" Gniewek, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired sheet metal mechanic for a heating and ventilation company and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; one daughter, Tracy Sapien of Las Vegas; one son, Todd Gniewek of Lockport, Ill.; and two sisters, Julie Basil of Munster, Ind., and Sandra Laude of Frankfort, Ill.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Diane Elaine Heldman

Diane Elaine Heldman, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 21, 1947, in Ohio. A resident for seven years, she was a senior executive host.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; her parents, William and Dorothy Courtney; one son, Ryan Heldman; three brothers, Michael Courtney, Darrell Courtney and Christopher Courtney; and four sisters, Deborah McGuirk, Roseanna Carnicom, Pamela Bennett and Melissa Smith.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Friday at the Fiesta Rancho casino. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Betty Klein

Betty Klein, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Swartz of Dallas; and two grandchildren.

Floyd R. McKinzey-Tatum

Floyd R. McKinzey-Tatum, 43, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1961, in Las Vegas. A resident for 43 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by four daughters, Tanisha Royal of Oklahoma, Shauntovia Williams of Connecticut and Jasmin Lomax and Brittney Morgan, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Arletha Tatum of North Las Vegas; four brothers, Ricky A. Tatum, Cye C. Tatum, Sylvester S. Tatum Jr. and Antonio A. Tatum, and one sister, Donna L. Tatum, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Carver Missionary Baptist Church, 1221 N. J St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ann Neve

Ann Neve, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 27, 1930, in Dearborn, Mich. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired casino administrative assistant.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda A. Hurst of Las Vegas; one stepson, Jim Neve of San Jose, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be 2 p.m. Feb. 3 in Palm Valley View Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. handled private arrangements.

Harry R. Olson Jr.

Harry R. Olson Jr., 81, of Las Vegas died Jan. 12 in a local hospital. He was born June 4, 1923, in Marshalltown, Iowa. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Elks Lodge 1468.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; one daughter, Patricia Hirschman of Treasure Island, Fla.; one son, Tony Angellilli of Philadelphia; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:20 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

George Reed

William George Reed, 81, of Mesquite died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 4, 1923, in California. A resident for 10 years, he was a casino keno writer, a retired insurance agent, an Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge and Optimist Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Knowles of Rosemead, Calif., and Janey Thompson of Dallas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Freida M. Sangster

Freida M. Sangster, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1936, in Germany. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired owner-operator of a housekeeping business.

She is survived by four sons, Charles A. Sangster, Brian A. Sangster, Robert L. Sangster and Thomas A. Sangster, and two daughters, Karen D. Walker and Sharon L. Hubley, all of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Benjamin H. Selesnik

Benjamin H. Selesnik, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 19, 1933, in New York. A resident for many years, he was a retail salesman, a Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by three sisters, Frances, Elaine and Harriett; and one niece, Karen.

Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Alvaro Venzor

Alvaro Venzor, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1946, in Chihuahua, Mexico. A resident for 15 years, he was a fence installer.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Chavez de Venzor; one daughter, Elizabeth Venzor of Las Vegas; three sons, Alvaro Venzor Jr. of Denver and Eydy G. Venzor and Ulises Venzor, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-11 p.m. Friday and 1-8 a.m. Saturday followed by a 10 a.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Chizuye F. Wakatsuki

Chizuye F. Wakatsuki, 88, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Los Angeles. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Kosmo and Diana Otani, both of Oxnard, Calif., Christina Wakatsuki of Fairfield, Conn., and Joyce Lombardo of Dublin, Calif.; two sons, George Wakatsuki of San Jose, Calif., and Steve Wakatsuki of Boise, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. A memorial service will be in Oxnard. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Doris Winegarden

Doris Winegarden, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 28, 1923, in New York City. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker and a Desert Springs Hospital volunteer.

She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Winegarden of Suwanee, Ga., Terry Winegarden of Henderson and Randy Winegarden of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Cheryl Winegarden of Suwanee.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.
