Dennis J. Baca

Dennis J. Baca, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born July 7, 1940, in Belen, N.M. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hotel pastry chef.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; two sons, Michael Baca of Washington, D.C., and Leonard Campos of Las Vegas; four daughters, Berlinda Baca of Las Vegas, Denise Cordova of Albuquerque and Yvonne Campos and Barbara Marquez, both of Las Lunas, N.M.; one brother, Henry Baca of Las Lunas; three sisters, Flora Carillo, Elsie Padilla and Mary Ann Lange, all of Albuquerque; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Connection Point Christian Church, 3630 N. Rancho Drive, No. 111. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Wilfred J. Baptiste

Wilfred J. Baptiste, 74, of Las Vegas died Jan. 14. An entertainer who worked for Don Ho for 14 years, he was born Nov. 12, 1930.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; one son, Wilfred J. Baptiste Jr. of Pahrump; one daughter, Belinda Ishikawa of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Edward Evans

Edward Evans, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 16, 1933, in St. Joseph, La. A resident for 30 years, he was a hotel supervisor and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruth; one daughter, Patricia Evans of New Orleans; one son, David of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Patrick Richards and Roderick Richards, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Rosie Lee Giles and Avelee Collins, both of New Orleans, and Josephine Thompson of Flint, Mich.; one brother, Len Evans of New Orleans; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Denise Lynn Grassifulli

Denise Lynn Grassifulli, 41, of Las Vegas died Jan. 19 in Las Vegas. A seamstress, she was born March 19, 1963, in Bedford, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her parents, Denver and Glenda Whysong, and one sister, Donna Jean Whysong, all of Henderson; and two brothers, Alan Whysong and William David Whysong, both of California.

Felix Phil Hacker

Felix Phil Hacker, 75, of Las Vegas died Jan. 11 in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Kentucky. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired aerospace engineer and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Renee Fendley of Torrance, Calif., and Deanna Banks and Michelle Kelsey, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Allene Johnson

Allene Johnson, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 22, 1927, in St. Joseph, Mo. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired bookkeeper in the construction industry.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Pierce of Carlsbad, Calif., and Johnny Pierce of Phoenix; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

David Lamar Revis II/Montana

David Lamar Revis II /Montana, 31, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 11, 1973, in Las Vegas. He was a construction worker.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Terri L. and Nicholas V. Montana Sr., one sister, Misty Gray, and one stepbrother, Nick Montana Jr., all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Tedda Okun

Tedda Okun, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Chicago. A resident for four years, she was a resort owner in South Haven, Mich., and a member of B'nai B'rith.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Simon and Francine Gardberg, both of Henderson; four sons, Gilbert Okun of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Marshall Okun of Lake Forest, Ill., Jeffrey Okun of Canoga Park, Calif., and Franklin Okun of Coral Springs, Fla.; one brother, Arthur Samson of Bradenton, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Florida. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Joan Z. (Ochs) Poole

Joan Z. Poole, 70, of Las Vegas died Jan. 19. She was born March 21, 1934, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she owned the old trailer court on North 12th Street, was a Las Vegas High School graduate and a charter member of the school's Rhythmettes.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E.; one son, the Rev. David Poole of Las Vegas; two daughters, Diana Mosher of South Dayton, N.Y., and Bobbie Poole of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Community Assembly, 2900 N. Torrey Pines Drive.

Edith Bunker Potter

Edith Bunker Potter, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 20, 1915, in Bunkerville. A lifelong Southern Nevada resident, she was a North Las Vegas Justice Court clerk, a church choir singer, a seamstress and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Potter.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Clayton and Gaylene Potter, both of Las Vegas and Lynne Christiansen and Sandra Seaborn, both of Lamoille; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Mesquite Cemetery.

Garnet Woolley Samson

Garnet Woolley Samson, 71, of Fairland, Okla., died Jan. 13 in Fairland. She was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Las Vegas. She worked in sales at various gift shops in hotels in Las Vegas, was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1425 in Las Vegas and the Red Hot Starlets of Miami, Okla.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Wayne Meyer of Fairland and Nevada; four sons, Bill Samson, Jimmy Samson, Tony Samson and Gregory Samson, all of Nevada; and two grandchildren.

A local memorial service date is pending. Adcock Funeral Home, Fairland, is handling arrangements.

Shirlene Schoemann

Shirlene Schoemann, 68, of Las Vegas died Jan. 19 in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1936, in Wanette, Okla. A resident for four years, she was a retired accountant for a furniture manufacturer.

She is survived by two brothers, John Schoemann of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Charles Schoemann of Las Vegas.

Frank H. Slaven

Frank H. Slaven, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 7, 1924, in Cooperative, Ky. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired restaurateur, a World War II Navy veteran and the former owner of the International House of Pancakes at Las Vegas Boulevard South and Sahara Avenue.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta; three brothers, George Slaven of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Cleatus Slaven of Sun City, Calif., and Don Slaven of Harragate, Tenn.; three sisters, Jean Hites of Las Vegas, Janice Reed of Whitley City, Ky., and Frances Bell of Stearns, Ky.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Joseph P. Valenti

Joseph P. Valenti, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born May 15, 1927, in New York City. A resident for six years, he was a retired lithographer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A.; two daughters, Karen Gonzalez and Lorraine Valenti, and one sister, Jennie Manno, all of New York City; one brother, Jack Valenti of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in New York. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Clarence LeRoy White

Clarence LeRoy White, 41, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 6, 1963, in Las Vegas. A resident for five years, he was a singer.

He is survived by his parents, LeRoy and Barbara White of Las Vegas; one sister, Raquel White of San Francisco; and his grandmother, Lillie Young of Palm Springs, Calif.
