Vivian Agnew

Vivian Agnew, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Kosciusko, Miss. A resident for four years, she was a retired office manager for a construction management company, former chairwoman of the hospitality committee with the Detroit Connection Inc., and a school volunteer.

She is survived by her husband, Wesley; two brothers, Marvin Guyton of Detroit and Quinton Guyton of Southfield, Mich.; one sister, Jerlene Douglas of Southfield; and four grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be held in Detroit. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Murray G. Averett III

Murray G. Averett III, 43, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born May 11, 1961, in Downey, Calif. A resident for 34 years, he owned and operated a pool service and was a Basic High School graduate.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; one son, Timothy Averett, one daughter, Katie Averett, his mother, Sherle Averett, one brother, Ronald Averett, and one sister, Terri Aiken, all of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

The family suggests donations for the benefit of his wife and children.

Betty M. Burger

Betty M. Burger, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 8, 1925, in Oklahoma. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Motak of Miami and David Motak of Leesburg, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Gino Cappelletti

Gino Cappelletti, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 23, 1935, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired racing and sports disseminator.

He is survived by five daughters, Lisa Mascera of Verona, N.J., Gina Kuebler, Jill Kuebler and Nikki Cappelletti, all of Las Vegas, and Lori Kuebler of Lodi, N.J.; two sisters, Elaine Smith of Toms River, N.J., and Joan Burbella of Rochelle Park, N.J.; his companion, Marla Weiner of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and 1:30 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the Nevada Wildlife Federation, www.nvwf.org.

Trudy E. Christie

Trudy E. Christie, 59, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 18 years, she was a shipping and receiving clerk at a local casino.

She is survived by two daughters, Kelli Sue Sponseller of North Las Vegas and Danita Belmore of Bakersfield, Calif.; her mother, Geraldine Aduddell of Barstow, Calif.; two sisters, Reba Jordan of Boron, Calif., and Kay Wetherington of Barstow; one brother, Truman Aduddell Jr. of Boron; and five grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Boron. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Elwood H. 'Woody' Clark

Elwood H. "Woody" Clark, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 14, 1947, in Philadelphia. A resident for 14 years, he was a financial systems analyst, employed for nine years at HSBC and was a former member of the Las Vegas Corvette Club.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Madelyn; one daughter, Candice Priest, and one granddaughter, Riley Priest, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Stella M. Doerr

Stella M. Doerr, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a retired office manager in the banking industry.

She is survived by one brother, Edward Mlynarski of Tonawanda, N.Y.

Cecelia Groulx

Cecelia Groulx, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Chicago. A resident for eight years, she was a retired franchise trainer for a convenience store operation.

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Wilkerson of Las Vegas and Kellee Lewis of Pembroke, Va.; four brothers; one sister; and six grandchildren.

Elwin B. Johnson

Elwin B. Johnson, 83, of Henderson died Friday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Delta, Utah. A lifelong resident, he was a retired electrician, a Korean War Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of Las Vegas High School.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel; one daughter, Paula Abercrombie of Las Vegas; and one son, Mark Johnson of Dallas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Tedda Okun

Tedda Okun, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Chicago. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Simon of Henderson and Francine Gardberg of Las Vegas; three sons, Gilbert Okun of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Jeffrey Okun of Canoga Park, Calif., and Franklin Okun of Coral Springs, Fla.; one sister, Marshall Okun of Lake Forest, Ill.; one brother, Arthur Samson of Bradenton, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Florida. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Mildred Sandomenico

Mildred Sandomenico, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born July 16, 1917, in New York City. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired civil service hospital administrative assistant.

She is survived by one daughter, Hope McKenna of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Graveside services will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Noel C. Sharp

Noel C. Sharp, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. A retired electronics technician in the gaming industry, he was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Oklahoma City.

He is survived by one son, David Williamson of Temecula, Calif.; one brother, Guy Sharp of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Clarence Joseph Small

Clarence Joseph Small, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Bernard, Iowa. He was an air traffic controller, a Vietnam War veteran who earned the highest medal given a non-commissioned officer and was a communications specialist for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Small.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley; two sons, Michael Small of Las Vegas and Mark Small of Anderson, S.C.; one daughter, Michele Brown of Las Vegas; two brothers, Loras of LaMotte, Iowa, and Claire of Maquoketa, Iowa; three sisters, Carmie and Avalene, both of Bernard, Iowa, and Teresa Maquoketa; and five grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 220 N. 14 St. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
