Woman, 75, injured while crossing street

Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 | 10:52 a.m.

A 75-year-old Las Vegas woman suffered serious injuries Saturday when she stepped in front of an oncoming car, Metro Police said.

Florence Dunning was crossing in the 2600 block of High Vale Drive in Las Vegas about 5:15 Saturday evening when she entered the path of a 2000 Lexus driven by 80-year-old Elizabeth Robinson of Las Vegas, police said.

Police say an error on Dunning's part was likely to blame for the accident. She was not crossing at an intersection or crosswalk.

She was taken to University Medical Center, where she remained in serious condition this morning.
