Letter: Tiffany should work for citizens, not GOP bosses
Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 | 8:58 a.m.
After watching state Sen. Sandra Tiffany, R-Henderson, on the Jon Ralston program, I am absolutely amazed that the Henderson voters re-elect her! She certainly uses all the right-wing emotional buzz words like "community-based," "choices" and my favorite, "union bosses."
It's the teachers union that she is talking about. Why does she continue to attack teachers? Nobody works harder for less than our teachers. Why does she want to destroy the Clark County School District by breaking it up into smaller districts?
In the 2004 election Clark County voted for progress and the Republican-dominated northern and rural areas of Nevada voted against Clark County. In those areas, voters want nuclear waste coming to Southern Nevada, they want no renewable energy resources and they want our property taxes spent on them.
I challenge Tiffany to work for Henderson citizens and not for the "Republican bosses" in Carson City.
