Tentative contract agreement reached at Blue Chip casino

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- A tentative contract agreement has been reached between Blue Chip Casino and a union that represents housekeepers, servers, cooks and bartenders.

Henry Tamarin, president of Unite Here Local 1, said the agreement was reached late Wednesday. It was the fourth tentative agreement reached between the union and Indiana's Lake Michigan casinos. Tentative agreements were also reached last week with Harrah's in East Chicago and Majestic Star and Trump Casino in Gary.

The 250 union members will vote on the contract with Blue Chip next week, the union said.

Harrah's workers were voting Thursday on the tentative agreement reached there last week.
