Luther College Nordic Choir makes Las Vegas appearance

Luther College Nordic Choir, one of the nation's top a cappella college choirs, will stop in Las Vegas as part of its West Coast tour and perform the music of Nystedt, Monteverdi, Christiansen, Whitacre and Tschesnokoff.

The choir from Decorah, Iowa, is an award-winning group that tours nationally and internationally. The West Coast tour is one of the last for the conductor Weston Noble, who has conducted the Nordic choir for 57 years.

Additionally, Noble has served as guest conductor for nearly 800 music festivals in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and South America.

The local performance will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door and $8 for students. For more information, call 458-2241.
