Lutefisk dinner planned by Sons of Norway

Vegas Viking, the local chapter of Sons of Norway, will hold its seventh annual lutefisk and meatball dinner Feb. 5 at the Elks Club in Boulder City. Seatings will be at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The local chapter formed in 1992 and has roughly 150 members. The dinner is its largest fundraiser.

Lutefisk, a Scandinavian specialty usually served around the holidays, is dried cod that has been soaked in lye, then boiled to serve. In addition to lutefisk, boiled red potatoes, vegetables, cole slaw and lefse will be served.
