LAKE MEAD: Typical winter fishing has arrived at the lake with anglers having only limited success for striped bass and little or no success for largemouth bass. Rainbow trout are still being caught following weekly plants conducted by the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Boaters who have been fishing in the Las Vegas Wash area have been connecting with stripers that weigh around a pound. The fish are being taken by trolling, chumming and drifting with anchovies and jigging.

Boaters who were fishing outside the tires at Lake Mead Marina over the weekend reported to NDOW that they caught thin stripers with anchovies.

Poor fishing was found during the weekend by boaters who were fishing in the Hemenway Harbor area.

LAKE MOHAVE: Fishing has been extremely slow except for several large stripers that were caught near Cottonwood Cove following last week's rainbow trout plants.

URBAN PONDS: Trout fishing has been fair with 10-inch fish having a preference for lures, such as small spinners, rather than baits.

They also are hitting flies while they are sinking. Rainbow trout were scheduled to be stocked today at Floyd Lamb State Park, Lorenzi Park and Sunset Park in Las Vegas and Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City.

WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA: Approximately 90 percent of the water is covered with ice that is around 3 inches thick. Anglers have been going onto the ice even though NDOW cautions that the conditions may not be safe for ice fishing.

Success has been found for rainbow trout at Adams-McGill, Cold Springs and Haymeadow reservoirs.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR: Flood damage to State Route 322 has made the lake inaccessible.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR: The reservoir is now full because of the recent storms, but the water is very murky. Ice covers a portion of the lake, but there is still enough open water for fishing.
