Mary Ann E. Aalberts

Mary Ann E. Aalberts, 88, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Holland, Mich. A resident for seven years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Aalberts of Henderson and Thomas E. Aalberts of Duluth, Minn.; one brother, Donald Van Duren of Holland, Mich.; and two granddaughters.

A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Cottages of Green Valley, 2620 Robindale Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

C.R. Ashe

C.R. Ashe, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 6, 1931, in Canton, N.C. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired project manager for a construction company and a member of the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Tenino, Wash.; four daughters, Nancy Butera of Henderson, Cynthia Johnson and Pam Ashe, both of Tenino, Wash., and Linda Hunsaker of Clearfield, Utah; one son, David Ashe of Las Vegas; three sisters, Wilma Huelle of Las Vegas, Blanche Carpenter of Mesa, Ariz., and Judy Hahn of Yakima, Wash.; and 27 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 2785 E. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Rob Brewster

Rob Brewster, 51, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1953, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 10 years, he was a social worker for the state government.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela S.; one daughter, Heather Brewster, and one son, Lloyd Brewster, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m.-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Thursday in the LDS Meadows Second Ward Stake Center, 3200 Mustang Road. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Lillian Julia Costa

Lillian Julia Costa, 89, of Las Vegas died Jan. 10 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 25, 1915, in New York City. A resident for five months, she was a medical clerk.

She is survived by one son, Victor DeLucia of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Margaret M. Hackney

Margaret M. Hackney, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 24, 1922, in Wampum, Pa. A resident for 34 years, she was a tax auditor for the federal government.

She was preceded in death by one son, Lt. Col. Greg Hackney; and three brothers, Charles McFerrin, Eugene McFerrin and Thomas McFerrin.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John C.; one daughter, Joyce L. Ford of Boise, Idaho; four sisters, Virginia Walker of San Jose, Calif., Mildred Vechick of Pensacola, Fla., Luella Isaacson of Yucaipa, Calif., and Nancy Nelson of Boulder City; one brother, Robert McFerrin of Fontana, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Grace Zsa Zsa Ursala Harper

Grace Zsa Zsa Ursala Harper, 44, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 23, 1960, in Kansas.

She is survived by her companion, Byron Kimball; one daughter, April Nichols; her parents, Doris and Herman Harper; five sisters, Jo Harper, Jennifer Harper, Hermenia Harper, Cheryl Seals and Paula Renfro; and two brothers, Herman Cecil Harper Jr. and Dale Harper.

Gladys Marie Jennings

Gladys Marie Jennings, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 12, 1929, in Tennessee. A resident for many years, she owned and operated a second hand store.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Earl Jennings.

Gary L. Kaiser

Gary L. Kaiser, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Los Angeles. A resident for 33 years, he was a heavy equipment parts man and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Roxie; two sons, Michael Kaiser of Las Vegas and Roger Kaiser of Corona, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Tonia Williams and Dawn Brown, both of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

John LoGrasso

John LoGrasso, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 3, 1926, in New York. A resident for 26 years, he was an electrician, a Navy veteran and a member of the Italian American Club.

He is survived by one son, John LoGrasso; one daughter, Susan Kraft; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Dora Fern McClelland

Dora Fern McClelland, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Lancaster, Pa. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen J. Mulhern of Las Vegas; one brother, Neal Knotwell, and one sister, Arlene Huston, both of Beverly Hills, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Celestino 'Tino' Queja

Celestino "Tino" Queja, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 7, 1926, in Honolulu. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired supervisor of an air-conditioning filter company, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Optimist Club of Gardena, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; one daughter, Joyel Reyna of Las Vegas; three sons, James Queja of Newport Beach, Calif., Paul Queja of Gardena and David Queja of Las Vegas; two sisters, Raymunda Perry of Honolulu and Alice Muraoka of Gardena; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Paul Richter

Paul Richter, 65, of Boulder City died Monday in Boulder City. He was born July 26, 1939, in Danville, Ill. A resident for 53 years, he was a retired maintenance worker for the Department of Public Works and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Barbara Fuller of Boulder City; one sister, Patricia Martin of Henderson; and one niece, Sheila Mulliner of San Jose, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

John A. Rugar Jr.

John A. Rugar Jr., 91, of Las Vegas died Dec. 26 in a local hospital. He was born June 25, 1913, in Los Angeles. A resident for 58 years, he founded Rugar Electronics in 1954 and Vegas Instant Page in 1968, introduced automated radio paging to Las Vegas and designed many theater sound systems in early Las Vegas hotels.

He is survived by his wife, Alta; two sons, Bruce of Las Vegas and Daniel of Los Altos, Calif.; one daughter, Janeen Bertolina of Portage, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Larry H. Skoglund

Larry H. Skoglund, 73, of Las Vegas died Jan. 3. He was born June 3, 1931, in Minnesota. He was captain in the San Diego Fire Department and was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby; two sons, David Skoglund of California and Gary Scalf of Las Vegas; four daughters, Joni Skoglund of Texas, Jill Balmos of Arizona and Paula Scalf and Lynda Scalf, both of California; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ruth E. Strauch

Ruth E. Strauch, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born April 9, 1917, in New York state. A resident for 15 years, she was a bookkeeper for a medical supplies company.

She is survived by one son, Nelson A. Strauch; one brother, Peter Edgar; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Janis D. Swift

Janis D. Swift, 81, of Henderson died Sunday in a local care center. She was born April 9, 1923, in Streator, Ill. A resident for 58 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles O.; one son, Charles R. Swift of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jan Propheter Wood

Jan Propheter Wood, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 2, 1953, in Jamestown, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, she was an inventory specialist.

She is survived by one daughter, Stacey Luce of Las Vegas; one son, Kris Luce of Crimora, Va.; and one grandson.

A private memorial service will be 5 p.m. today in Valley Funeral Home, 3919 Raymert Drive.

Michael Henry Zacharias

Michael Henry Zacharias, 87, of Pahrump died Monday in a local hospital. A retired driver for a local union and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he was born June 11, 1917, in Cleveland.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Edward Zacharias, and one daughter, Barbara Fuss, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
