Metro Police are searching for three men and a woman after a home invasion and car theft that was reported near Eastern and Stewart avenues Monday night.
A man told police that he had stepped outside his home about 9 p.m. and three men and a woman rushed at him, forcing him inside his home, police said.
The man's wife and 3- and 8-year-old children were inside the home. After ransacking the house for several minutes, the three men and the woman left in the family's Saturn, police said.
The man, his wife and children were not harmed, and no arrests have been made, police said this morning.
Metro Police investigated more than 166 home invasion robberies in 2004 and 198 the year before.
