Killers set to perform on ‘SNL’ this weekend

Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 | 9 a.m.

Las Vegas-based band the Killers join a prestigious club this month when they appear on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

The band, composed of vocalist/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, guitarist David Keuning, drummer Ronnie Vannucci and bassist Mark Stoermer, are scheduled to perform two songs on Saturday's broadcast (Channel 3), hosted by "That '70s Show" and "In Good Company" star Topher Grace.

It will be the second television appearance for the band, who performed on the Dec. 2 episode of Fox's "The O.C."

The Killers are heading into the year with three Grammy nominations, including Rock Song ("Somebody Told Me") and Rock Album ("Hot Fuss"). The Grammy Awards presentation will be Feb. 13 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

They are currently on a sold-out concert tour of the United Kingdom.
