Asian group to hold first meeting Sunday

Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 | 10:59 a.m.

The Asian American Republican Coalition, which has a chapter in Reno, is hoping to start a chapter in Las Vegas to talk about issues relating to the Asian community. The first meeting will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

The group is working with the National Asian American Republican Coalition and the Nevada Republican Party and will try to reach out to the Asian community to become more involved in Republican politics, said Dolly de Leon, an interim spokeswoman for the group.

Sunday's meeting will be at Dolly's Weddings and Banquets, 3743 Las Vegas Blvd., on the second floor of the Hawaiian Marketplace. Parking is available through a valet or next to the Polo Towers and behind McDonalds, the group said in a release.

For more information, call de Leon at 769-7702.
