Letter: Bush’s deadly vendetta should not be forgotten
Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 | 9:26 a.m.
I am sure that the Bush administration has no problem with the tsunami news flooding the airwaves. It has consumed the networks so totally that no one seems to be reporting much on the mess in Iraq and the troops who are getting killed daily.
There are now 1,350 American troops who have been killed and 17,811 who have been wounded. And even though the Bush people won't tell us, more than 100,000 Iraqis have been killed since Bush attacked their country.
Saddam is said to have killed 350,000 of his own people, but that doesn't justify President Bush getting an additional 100,000 killed in his vendetta against Saddam.
Bush likes to remind us that he is a born-again Christian, but my knowledge of Christ is that he was a man of peace who walked peacefully in his sandals on the shores of the Sea of Gallilee preaching peace and love of thy neighbor.
Somewhere along the way, Bush lost me.
