Sun adding two new comics

The Las Vegas Sun is changing the look of its comics pages, adding a single-panel comic, Brevity, which began appearing this week, and a new comic strip, Rhymes With Orange, which debuts Jan. 16.

Brevity is featured on page 22E of today's Sun. Written and drawn by Guy Endore-Kaiser and Rodd Perry, the comic was launched nationwide Monday. It will run weekdays in the Sun.

Endore-Kaiser and Perry are the are producers at the Ant Farm, one of Hollywood's largest motion-picture advertising agencies. They have overseen trailers and TV commercials for "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Kill Bill," "The Sixth Sense," "Spy Kids 3," "Bad Boys 2" and others.

"Brevity came to life between deceiving moviegoers and giving away endings," Endore-Kaiser said in a statement released by United Feature Syndicate, which distributes the comic nationwide.

Rhymes With Orange is written and drawn by Hilary Price, a Stanford University graduate with a degree in Engligh literature. The strip debuted in 1995, when it became a hit with twentysomething readers. Since then, states a news release from King Features (which syndicates the strip), "Its appeal has expanded to smart, good-looking people of all ages."

Rhymes With Orange debuts in the Sunday's color comics section and will run each Sunday and on weekdays in the Sun.
