Yolanda D. Bacon

Yolanda D. Bacon, 29, of Las Vegas died Dec. 27 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1975, in California.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.

Kory Lamar Carter

Kory Lamar Carter, 21, of Las Vegas died Dec. 29 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 28, 1983, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a student.

He is survived by one daughter, Chyna Arlene Carter, one son, Deandre Farley, his father, Levester Carter Jr., one brother, Randy Carter, and two sisters, Angela Carter and his twin sister, Kamala Carter, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-6 p.m. Sunday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.

Catherine L. Critser

Catherine L. Critser, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 6, 1934, in Baltimore. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Christina Robertson, one son, William Scott Critser, and one stepson, James Darrell Leitner, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ruth O'Connor and Katherine Woodall, both of Pasadena, Md.; one brother, Kenneth McConnell of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 6 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, 1501 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Las Vegas, NV 89104.

Charlotte May Giles

Charlotte May Giles, 79, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for four years, she was a retired secretary for a manufacturing firm.

She is survived by three daughters, Susan M. Sweeten of North Las Vegas, Charlene Watton of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Kathleen Lawson of Aurora, Colo.; one son, Leonard Frojd of Redondo Beach, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Jeffrey J. Hall

Jeffrey J. Hall, 41, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 10, 1963, in Quincy, Ill. A resident for one month, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Nanette; one son, Jerremy Barnes of Sandy Valley; his parents, John and Marion C. Hall of Falls Church, Va.; and one brother, Ellie Hall of Denver.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Sedric Horn Jr.

Sedric Horn Jr., 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Hillsboro, Miss. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, worked with Lockheed Aircraft in the Skunk Works Division and was a 32nd Degree Mason in Alabama.

He is survived by one son, David Horn of Las Vegas; two brothers, Curtis Horn and John T. Horn, two sisters, Ruby Kirby and Edwina Jones, and one sister-in-law, Erma Jean Horn, all of Mississippi; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled today 1:20 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Joseph J. Macko

Joseph J. Macko, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for eight years, he was a retired Army veteran and a member of the Retired Officers Association.

He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth J. Gootee, Rozalind Macko and Melanie Dougall; one brother, Andy Macko; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Kathleen E. McCarren

Kathleen E. McCarren, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Louisville, Ky. A resident for five years, she was a retired business manager for a nonprofit firm.

She is survived by two daughters, Maureen Rodriguez of Oxnard, Calif., and Terrie McCarren of Las Vegas; one sister, Blanche Thobe of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

George Osley Jr.

George Osley Jr., 69, of Las Vegas died Dec. 28 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Newellton, La. A resident for 52 years, he was a union business manager/secretary-treasurer and a member and post grandmaster at St. Marks Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by two sons, Alvin C. Osley of Las Vegas and Robert C. Osley of Washington, D.C.; four daughters, Kathy Tate, Loretta Osley, Karen F. Osley and Yvonne Davis, two brothers, Earl Hardin and James Lewis, and two sisters, Catherine Williams and Carolyn Rainey, all of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Elizabeth M. Patterson

Elizabeth M. Patterson, 82, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Jackson, Neb. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Addington of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Shirley Leavitt of Henderson; one son, Robert P. Patterson of Henderson; two sisters, Elvina Wedmore and Helen Wegner, both of Sioux City, Iowa; one brother, Raymond Johns of Keokuk, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Violanda Turchiarelli

Violanda Turchiarelli, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 24, 1914, in Force, Pa. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Robert Louis Turchiarelli of Buffalo, N.Y.; two daughters, Barbara Ann Baldwin and Violet Louise Madonia, and one sister, Rachel Desmore, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Donald R. Wasmund

Donald R. Wasmund, 78, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Evanston, Ill. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired milkman and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Joan M. Hudgins of Henderson, Donna Jack of Kansas City, Mo., Anntoni Kampert of Bend, Ore., and Barbara Narciso of Buford, Ga.; two sons, Steve Wasmund of Rock Hill, S.C., and Joe Wasmund of Wheeling, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
