Firm’s contract for CES extended

The Las Vegas company that provides construction services for the International Consumer Electronics Show has had its contract extended.
GES Exposition Services, a Las Vegas-based subsidiary of Viad Corp., Phoenix, provided about 2,700 jobs for this years CES. GES contract with the Consumer Electronics Association, the producers for CES, was due to expire in 2006, but was extended three years.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GES has been the service contractor for CES since 1978 and the show has grown to become one of the largest trade shows in the world with an estimated 1.5 million square feet of exhibitions this year.
GES, which also has contracts with the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Mens Apparel Guild in California fashion events and ConExpo-Con/Agg, provides exhibition planning and design, exhibit rental and fabrication, signs and graphics manufacturing, installation and dismantling, carpet and furnishing and transportation services.
