Goldie Lee Baker

Goldie Lee Baker, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 26, 1932, in Oklahoma. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired executive secretary for a manufacturing firm and a member of Royal Neighbors of America.

She is survived by one son, Gary A. Baker of Las Vegas; one daughter, Rita DiBartolo of Hollister, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lilly T. Bazille

Lilly T. Bazille, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A resident for six years, she was born Jan. 15, 1912, in Louisiana.

She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Weather of Las Vegas; one sister, Veola Mosley of New Orleans; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Nell Marie Jefferson

Nell Marie Jefferson, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 26, 1932, in Tennessee. A resident for 53 years, she was a retired Valley Hospital dietitian and the first lady at Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor Robert L.; one daughter, Debra Jefferson, and one son, Byron Jefferson, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Bishop Walter McBride of Medon, Tenn., Wilford J. McBride of Louisville, Ky., Charles A. McBride of Jackson, Tenn., and Robert McBride of St. Louis; four sisters, Beatrice McBride Taylor and Lillian McBride Williams, both of Jackson, and Hazel A. McBride and Annie Ruth McBride Blackburn, both of St. Louis; and five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ, 2301 Comstock Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane.

Arnold M. Lastra

Arnold M. Lastra, 81, of Las Vegas died Dec. 30 in Las Vegas. He was born July 18, 1923, in California. A resident for 12 years, he was a shipping clerk and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; two sons, Bill Lastra and Chris Lastra, and two daughters, Brenda Lastra and Roxanne Lastra, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Lawrence

Barbara Ann Lawrence, 54, of Las Vegas died Dec. 30 in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1950, in Louisiana. A resident for 47 years, she was a keno writer at the Silverbird hotel.

She is survived by her companion, Melvin Samuels of Las Vegas; three daughters, Damita Ann Lawrence and Catrina Samuels, both of Las Vegas, and Tora Thomas of North Las Vegas; three sons, Rodrick Daniels and Eric Daniels, both of California, and Demetrius Daniels of Las Vegas; two brothers, Vernell Marshall of Oklahoma and Larry Anderson of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Davis Funeral Home. A private burial will follow. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Vanessa Leticia Macias

Vanessa Leticia Macias, 33, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 4, 1971, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; one son, Christian Macias, and two daughters, Selina Macias and Breanna Macias, all of North Las Vegas; her father, Jesse Salas, and her mother, Yolanda Ramirez, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Eddie Salas of Chicago; and her grandmother, Caroline Otternes of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 7 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4519 Simmons St., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Mary N. McAnally

Mary N. McAnally, 77, of Las Vegas died Dec. 25 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Tennessee. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William A.; two daughters, Ann Smith and Janie Fasching, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Willie McAnally and Terry McAnally, both of Las Vegas, and Bobby McAnally of Arizona; one brother, J.D. Gray of Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Deanna L. Meeder

Deanna L. Meeder, 64, of Las Vegas died Dec. 8 in Las Vegas. She was born July 16, 1940, in Los Angeles. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons, Rickey Gibson and Gene Meeder; one daughter, Tracy Toy Wilson; her mother, Cecilia Rodriquez; one brother, Richard Rodriquez; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 8:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Neptune Society of Las Vegas, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Vera Potoker

Vera Potoker, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Fairview, N.J. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Lorley Musiol of Las Vegas; two sons, John Potoker Jr. of Marina Del Rey, Calif., and Lawrence Potoker of Canyon Country, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Mary Roggensee

Mary Roggensee, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 17, 1945, in California. A resident for 14 years, she was an insurance company administrator.

She is survived by her husband, Karl; one son, Kenneth Allen; one daughter, J.J. Kelts; her mother, Stella Scott; two brothers, Robert Eugene Scott and Fred Nolan Scott Jr.; one sister, Ann Pfiffner; and three grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Mildred Rumper

Mildred Rumper, 82, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 17, 1922, in New York City. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith Kauder of Staten Island, N.Y., and Roberta Awad of Henderson; and one grandson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Graveside services will be in New York City.

Ovala Taloa

Ovala Taloa, 73, of Cal Nev Ari, died Monday in Cal Nev Ari. He was born Dec. 5, 1931, in West Samoa. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired lead warehouseman for a bottling company and a member of American Association of Retired Persons.

He is survived by his wife, Diane P.; two daughters, Yolanda V. Norris of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Joanne Taloa-Green of Las Vegas; one son, Rick E. Taloa of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; his mother, Vaovai Te'o of Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters; three brothers; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Charles W. Walker

Charles W. Walker, 71, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 9, 1933, in Pinola, Miss. A resident for seven years, he was a retired school district custodial supervisor, a teacher with United Faith Ministries and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Vergea L.; two daughters, Sheila M. Marshall of Henderson and Joanne Walker of El Cajon, Calif.; one son, Anthony Charles Walker of Carson City; three brothers, James Walker of Cerritos, Calif., and Robert Walker and Samuel Walker, both of Pinola; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.
