Lied hosting special program for kids
Every Wednesday in January at 3 p.m. the Lied Discovery Children's Museum invites children to the Family Theatre Stage on the first floor where an admission ticket to the museum includes an afternoon of movies, discussion, critiques and popcorn.
The afternoon movies will also include fun activities such as coloring, crosswords, puzzles and mazes.
The museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Admission is $7; $6 for children ages 1-17, seniors and military families; children under 1 are free.

Business support goes online
The nonprofit Community Business Resource Center has launched 24-hours-a-day, seven-day-a-week business assistance services through its development of the Web-based Nevada Business Support Network.
The Web site is nbsn.ecosq.com/kb.
The NBSN is a free Web-based "business help desk" utilizing world-class collaboration technology. It provides private and social entrepreneurs with the ability to obtain help with their business-related questions from Nevada business assistance organizations and other entrepreneurs, from any Internet-capable computer.
The NBSN is available at no cost to all business and nonprofit organizations in Nevada and anyone interested in starting or moving a business to Nevada. Individuals or organizations needing assistance can submit their request by email to support@nbsn.ecosq.com.
Charles Rowden will be speaking on "Orchid Photography"
at 2 p.m. Sunday at a meeting presented by the Greater Las Vegas Orchid Society at the Nevada Garden Club Building in Lorenzi Park. The event will also feature a white elephant silent auction, with donations from the members. For more information, call Eileen McKyton at 251-1456.
