Leary Bernard Adams Sr.

Leary Bernard Adams Sr., 76, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 28, 1928, in New Orleans. A resident for 10 years, he was a former police officer, Merchant Marines and Army veteran, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Forresters, and the Colt 38 Club.

He was preceded in death by one son, Byron Anthony Adams Sr.

He is survived by four sons, Leary B. Adams Jr. and Eric J. Adams Sr., both of Las Vegas, Keith A. Adams Sr. of St. Rose, La., and Timothy J. Adams Sr. of Bowie, Md.; one daughter, Sandra A. Adams of Albuquerque; one brother, Orson Adams, and one sister, Joyce Adams, both of New Orleans; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday in St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 1920 Martin Luther King Blvd.

Emmagean Anderson

Emmagean Anderson, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 74 years, she was a retired cashier.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Evans, and one son, Ronald G. Anderson, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Rowene of Oxnard, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Faataitai Atuatasi

Faataitai Atuatasi, 62, of Las Vegas died Dec. 26 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 21, 1942, in American Samoa. A resident for five years, he was a warehouseman.

He is survived by his wife, Punitia; two sons, Ken N. Atuatasi and Keith L. Atuatasi, and two daughters, Barbara T. Atuatasi and Orchid P. Jennings, all of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Sunday in First Congregational Church, 1200 N. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in First Congregational Church, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Lucille 'Lucy' Christopher

Lucille "Lucy" Christopher, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 25, 1918, in Topeka, Kan. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired waitress, Catholic welfare volunteer and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by two daughters, Freda Silva of Medford, Ore., and Joy Pitmon of Las Vegas; three sons, Ronald Morse of Walnut Creek, Calif., Darell Morse of Pleasanton, Calif., and Edward Morse of Las Vegas; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 2 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

James Simmons Goss

James Simmons Goss, 51, of Las Vegas died Dec. 10 in Las Vegas. He was born May 15, 1953, in Massachusetts. A resident for five years, he was a retired Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his mother, Frances Helen Goss; five brothers, Edward J., Richard R., Jeffrey, Mark and Gerald Goss; and six sisters, Alyce, Carol, Donna, Elizabeth, Nancy and Alison.

Burial was in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Roberto Govin

Roberto Govin, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born June 7, 1940, in Havana. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired room service waiter, and he owned Robert's Custom Draperies and Bridals and Flowers by Millie.

He is survived by his wife, Milagros; four brothers, Rafael Govin and Rolando Govin, both of Havana, and Jose T. Martinez and Juan A. Martinez, both of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Caridad Govin of Havana and Idalia Valdes and Hauda Hernandez, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 10 p.m. today. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Arlene Harbach

Arlene Harbach, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 12, 1949, in New York. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the National Charity League.

She is survived by two daughters, Angie Harbach and Lori Harbach, both of Henderson; one son, Jeffrey Harbach of Las Vegas; one sister, Helene Graff of Miami; one brother, David Stoler of Winter Haven, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Frances L. Hollis

Frances L. Hollis, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday. A resident for 10 years, she was an active member of the Friends of Southern Nevada Libraries, AARP and Clark County National Genealogical Society.

She is survived by one son, Keith Hollis of Moreno Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Adrian S. Shields of Carson, Calif., and Edward W. Shields of Henderson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in Los Angeles. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., handled local arrangements.

Warren Whitehead 'Hutch' Hutchings

Warren Whitehead "Hutch" Hutchings, 90, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Lund. A longtime resident, he was an auto mechanic and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eloise; one son, Gary W. Hutchings of Battle Mountain; two daughters, Sharon Verdine of Logan, Utah, and Diane Whitaker of Las Vegas; two brothers, Cecil Hutchings of Mapleton, Utah, and Roy Hutchings of Ely; one sister, Irene Conn of Winnemucca; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the LDS Viking chapel, followed by burial in Reno.

Shaun Jensen

Shaun Jensen, 38, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 23, 1966, in Fargo, N.D. A resident for 32 years, he was a freelance writer.

He is survived by his mother, Judith Jensen of Las Vegas; his father, Nels Jensen of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Sarah Jensen of Cambridge, Mass.; and one brother, Erik Jensen of Seattle.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Amnuay Jugo

Amnuay Jugo, 56, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born July 20, 1948, in Thailand. A resident for 32 years, she was a retired cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Ricardo; two sons, Bobby Jugo and Ricky Jugo, and one brother, Preecha Sempolkrang, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be 11:20 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Philip Karas

Philip Karas died Friday. A former resident of Las Vegas, he was a World War II and Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Irma Rogge; one daughter, Maureen Karas; one son, Andrew Karas; one brother, Arthur Karas; and two grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Schrader Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road, Ballwin, MO 63011 is handling arrangements.

Michael Tulane

Michael Tulane, 97, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 21, 1907, in New York City. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired health and fitness trainer at Michael Tulane's Health Club and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa; one son, Ronald of San Diego; one daughter, Joyce Vars of Westlake Village, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Esther M. Varnado

Esther M. Varnado, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local rehabilitation hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Colorado. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Senior Citizen Bridge Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Mercadante, and one son, Michael Terrell, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Irene Strawn of Altoona, Iowa, and Norma Combs of Mantica, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Trinity United Methodist Church, 6151 W. Charleston Blvd., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Nora Ida Waite

Nora Ida Waite, 93, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 14, 1911, in Richfield, Idaho. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker and a member of Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.

She is survived by one son, Alvin North of Gardena, Calif.; five daughters, Dorothy Newman of Lakeview, Ore., Juanita Sannar of Gridley, Calif., and Beth Brandt, Charla Mallett and Melna Hibbert, all of Las Vegas; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the LDS Clayton chapel, 1991 Washburn Road. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
