Medical resident’s license suspended

SUN CAPITAL BUREAU

CARSON CITY -- The state Board of Medical Examiners said Monday it has suspended the license of Dr. David G. Evans, arrested in Las Vegas on charges of child molestation and child porn possession.

Tony Clark, executive director of the board, said it met in an emergency session Dec. 28 to take the disciplinary action against Evans, who was a resident at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Clark said the board may conduct a disciplinary hearing against Evans during the pending 61 felony counts, including six of sexually assaulting a minor. Evans, a pediatrician, said he met one of his victims through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada, according to police.

As a resident, he worked at University Medical Center and Sunrise Hospital.

Clark said the board wanted him entirely stopped from practicing any medicine pending later disciplinary action.
