Spot open on pollution board

The Clark County Air Quality and Environmental Management Department is currently seeking someone to serve on the Air Pollution Control Hearing Board.

The hearing board considers appeals, exemptions and variances to air-pollution related rules. The board generally meets on the second Thursday of each month from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

Board members must be residents of Nevada and not be employed by the state or county. At this time, the county needs someone to serve the remainder of a term set to expire in July 2006. This is a volunteer position with no compensation.

Applicants seeking appointment must provide a signed statement that includes the applicant's name, address, qualifications and any additional information that the applicant would like the Clark County Commission to consider.

These statements can be submitted to Air Quality and Environmental Management offices at the Clark County Government Center, 500 South Grand Central Parkway in downtown Las Vegas, or mailed to the department at P.O. Box 555210, Las Vegas, NV 89155-5210. Call 455-3126.
