Lawsuits filed recently in Clark County District Court against a Jason's Deli executive allege he made numerous sexually explicit and racially offensive comments to employees.
One of the cases filed Dec. 22 alleges Steve Creger, executive vice president of Deli Planet Inc., which operates three Las Vegas franchises of national restaurant operator Jason's Deli, made sexually and racially explicit remarks to Kimberly Story, a former deli-catering manager who was employed from September 2000 to June 2003.
Story's lawsuit cites statements from five current and former employees of Jason's Deli.
In a separate case, Creger is accused of discriminating against Ericka Jones, another former Jason's Deli catering manager who was terminated in April.
Creger's defense lawyer in both cases, Howard Cole, said the cases are "meritless" and will likely be decided in favor of his client.
"No matter how salacious the allegations, that doesn't mean they have any merit, and they will be subject to a motion to dismiss," Cole said.
