New CFO named

Aztar Corp., which owns the Tropicana hotel and casino in Las Vegas, has appointed Neil A. Ciarfalia to the position of chief financial officer effective March 1, succeeding Robert M. Haddock. Ciarfalia will continue in his responsibilities as vice president and treasurer.

Haddock becomes chairman, president and chief executive of Phoenix-based Aztar on March 1. He replaces Paul Rubeli, who previously announced his retirement.

Ciarfalia, 57, joined Aztar in 1995 and previously served as president of Saab Aircraft's finance subsidiaries. His appointment is subject to gaming regulatory approvals.
