M. Jewell Burton
M. Jewell Burton, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 1, 1912, in Missouri. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Donna Grant of Prescott, Ariz., Joy Mitchell of Las Vegas, Judy Boulet of Bend, Ore., and Patty Hyatt of Punta Gorda, Fla.; one son, David Burton of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Chapel, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Lucy B. Carter
Lucy B. Carter, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Georgia. A resident for 19 years, she was a retired housekeeper.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Jones of Las Vegas and Francene Harkness of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Susan Marsha Chirpin
Susan Marsha Chirpin, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 4, 1950, in New York. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Michael M.; one son, Daniel Matthew Chirpin of Salem, Ore.; one daughter, Jennifer Nicole Chirpin of Ohio; and one grandchild.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Rose Fitzharris
Rose Fitzharris, 89, of Henderson died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born May 31, 1915, in Yonkers, N.Y. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on March 21, 2002.
She is survived by one daughter, Laurie Wadlington of Henderson; two sisters, Matilda Mackenzie of Yonkers and Lillian Szwetkowski of North Port, Fla.; one brother, Joseph Wojcik of Bronxville, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Essie Mae Houghton
Essie Mae Houghton, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Clayton, N.M. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Gunderson of Henderson; one son, Robert A. Brite of Farmington, N.M.; one sister, Blanche LaChance of Newberry Springs, Calif.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Laura Kramer
Laura Kramer, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 22, 1929, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for eight years, she was a retail saleswoman.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; two daughters, Paula Peterson of Sandy Hook, Conn., and Linda Capobianco of Brewster, N.Y.; one sister, Evelyn Sindona of New Rochelle, N.Y.; one brother, Victor Edwards of California; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Helen Mormon
Helen Mormon, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 19, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, George J.; one daughter, Denise Dalzell; two sons, Brad Mormon and Curtis Mormon; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.
Morris Saperstein
Morris Saperstein, 98, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 7, 1906, in Newark, N.J. A resident for eight years, he was a retired clothing store manager.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; two sons, Fred Saperstein and Paul Saperstein, both of Las Vegas; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Morris Schiller
Morris Schiller, 99, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born April 8, 1905, in Russia. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired liquor store owner.
He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Debbie Blinder.
He is survived by one daughter, Arlene "Tootsie" Popowcer of Henderson; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will follow in Illinois. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Dennis E. Smith
Dennis E. Smith, 56, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 18, 1948, in Modesto, Calif. A resident for 18 years, he was a miner and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbi; and one brother, Steve Smith of Littleton, Colo.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Bill Verzani
Bill Verzani, 77, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1928 in Imperial, Calif. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hart Verzani, Joe Verzani and Ralph Verzani.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Verzani of North Las Vegas and Sharon Calles of Caliente; one son, Everett Verzani of Las Vegas; three brothers, Ray Verzani, George Verzani and Ted Verzani, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Velma Horn of Logandale, Julia Harris of St. Joseph, Mo., Dolly Rossen of Las Vegas and Wilma Motsinger of Henderson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Nick Weigle
Nick Weigle, 22, of Las Vegas died Feb. 14 in Las Vegas. He was born April 22, 1982, in Barberton, Ohio. A resident for eight years, he was a restaurant shift manager.
He is survived by his mother, Mariellen Henry Yappel of Las Vegas; his father, Donald Weigle of Copley, Ohio; and his grandparents, James and Pauline Henry of Akron, Ohio, and William Weigle of Copley.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
