Stephine Askin
Stephine Askin, 43, of Las Vegas died Feb. 14 in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 7, 1962, in Louisiana. A resident for 41 years, she was a hotel driver.
She is survived by two sons, Sheruan Chatman and Jimmie Askin, her mother, Lenora Winbush, her father, Roy Jackson, six sisters, Patrice Harris, Patranda Canada, Prudence Jackson, Renee Washington, Shannon Parks and Toni Lomax, and four brothers, Carl Lomax, Bodney Jackson, Barron Owens and Darron Owens, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Roland J. Boggioni
Roland J. Boggioni, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born May 4, 1919, in Pawtucket, R.I. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired material handler for a government contractor, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Boulder City Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Jeannette Lourenco.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; two daughters, Claire LaRue of Clayville, R.I., and Lori Jeanne Austin of Wilsonville, Ore.; two sons, Nicolas Aaron Boggioni of Toledo, Ohio, and Stephen R. Boggioni of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park.
Elspy S. DeRochemont
Elspy S. DeRochemont, 70, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Dover, N.H. A resident for two years, she was a retired nurse's aide and a Korean War Navy veteran.
She is survived by one son, Richard Engel of Henderson; one daughter, Lois Engel of Spokane, Wash.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Michael S. Lizardo
Michael S. Lizardo, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1958, in Salinas, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a roofer and a member of Gold's Gym.
He is survived by two sons, Brandon Lizardo of Honolulu and Joshua Lizardo of Lakewood, Calif.; three daughters, Dawni Faiola of Honolulu, Jodie Lizardo of Lakewood and Jessica Lizardo of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; three sisters, Diane Soria and Catherine Espino, both of Salinas, and Rita Paramore of Painesville, Ohio; one brother, Joseph Lizardo of San Diego; and five grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at noon today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
John Richard Marushok
John Richard Marushok, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 15 years, he was a restaurateur and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna; two daughters, Lorrie Molchaney of Pennsylvania and Shelly Franklin of Georgia; one son, John Marushok of Las Vegas; his mother, Anna Marushok of Las Vegas; one sister, Nancy Leitgeb of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Lonell Glover Mayo
Lonell Glover Mayo, 47, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 11, 1957, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a security guard.
He is survived by one daughter, Chanell Cooper, and one son, Cornelius Mayo, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Myrtle Askew of North Las Vegas; two sisters, Marcela Davis of Long Beach, Calif., and Janice Mayo of Las Vegas; three brothers, Theortis Bailey, Larry Mayo and Carlos Mayo, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Theodora 'Teddy' McKinnon
Theodora "Teddy" McKinnon, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born June 26, 1947, in Denver. A resident for 12 years, she was a trust officer at a bank.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Sr.; her mother, Mary Zervas of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; one sister, Marianne Thames of Foothill Ranch, Calif.; and two brothers, Dennis Zervas of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Perry Zervas of Bullhead City, Ariz.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Catherine Tippit
Catherine Tippit, 80, of Henderson died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born July 22, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for nine years, she was a retired electronics assembler.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary K. Hippen of Mesa, Ariz., and Kathryn Betts and Marie A. Kelly, both of Henderson; two sons, Howard C. Tippit of Henderson and Robert L. Tippit of Seligman, Mo.; one sister, Lucy Von Domaurs of Lancaster, Calif.; two brothers, Tom Spitere of Reno and Charlie Spitere of Palmdale, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will follow immediately at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
