Letter: Lottery would help education
Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 | 8:53 a.m.
Dina Titus, the Senate Minority Leader in the Legislature, wants Nevada to join a Powerball lottery! Like they say in some quarters, "You go, girl!"
Unlike the Clark County rental-car tax to support a performing arts center, I believe a lottery to support education is smart. The net revenue for states is usually about 50 percent.
I have nothing against performing arts, but I prefer to have performing students first.
