Murder suspect wanted since 1993 in Chicago is caught in LV

A man wanted since 1993 in connection with a killing in Chicago was arrested Friday at a Las Vegas auto repair business, police said.

Nathaniel Hoskins, 36, allegedly got into an argument on April 19, 1993, with Jerome Lucious over the possible theft of some tires, Metro Police Sgt. Tom Roberts said. Hoskins allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Lucious several times in the face in an alley.

A arrest warrant was issued against Hoskins a week later charging him with Lucious' murder, but Chicago Police weren't able to find him.

In January Chicago authorities learned Hoskins was living in Las Vegas and contacted the CAT team, composed of investigators with Metro and Henderson police and the FBI. They found Hoskins working at a auto repair shop and arrested him without incident, Roberts said.

He had been living under a false identity on the 1900 block of La Villa Drive in North Las Vegas, near West Lone Mountain Road and Simmons Street, with his common law wife and children, police said.

He will remain in the Clark County Detention Center until he is extradited to Chicago.
