Judge orders golf club to admit man

Steven Ferguson will be able to play golf at Southern Highlands golf club after U.S. District Judge James Mahan issued a preliminary injunction reinstating the black Las Vegas resident to the club while his racial discrimination case is pending.

Mahan stressed that Ferguson will have to follow all the club's rules.

Ferguson's lawsuit alleges that he has been the victim of racial discrimination at the club at the southwestern edge of the Las Vegas Valley.

Sexual assault suspect sought

Metro Police are looking for a man believed to have sexually assaulted a Las Vegas woman in her northwest apartment early this morning.

Officers say the man entered the woman's apartment in the 7000 block of West Gowan Road near Rainbow Boulevard about 1:10 a.m. through an unlocked window. After assaulting the woman, he took her keys and money before leaving in her car, Officer Jose Montoya, a Metro spokesman, said.

The car was later found at the rear of the apartment complex, indicating he did not drive it far, Montoya said. No name or description of the suspect was available this morning.

The woman, whose age was also not available, was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit, where she remained this morning, Montoya said.
