Wildlife photo contest deadline extended
The Nevada Biodiversity Initiative has extended to Tuesday the deadline for its annual photo contest of Nevada landscapes and wildlife.
The photo contest is designed to collect images of native species and landscapes that tell the story of Nevada's diverse biology. All images sent in will be kept in the NBI files as a catalog of Nevada's Biological Diversity.
There are three categories for the contest: Nevada landscapes; Native Wildlife (fish, mammals, birds, reptiles, etc.); and Native plants.
The Nevada Biodiversity Initiative is an organization of state and federal agencies, universities, and private organizations that conduct and coordinate research in Nevada to help integrate long-term planning for biological resources on public lands.
Entries must be postmarked by Tuesday and mailed to: NBI Photo Contest, US Fish & Wildlife Service, 1340 Financial Blvd. No.234, Reno, NV 89502. Entry fee is $10 per artist for any number of entries. Make checks payable to University of Nevada Foundation/NBI. Contest rules and entry forms are available at http://nevada.fws.gov.
