Friday, Feb. 11, 2005 | 10:44 a.m.

The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 711 picketed in front of a recently opened Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market at Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Bermuda Road on Wednesday. Belfiori works for Allied Forces Temporary Services. UFCW leaders say Wal-Mart Corp. doesn't pay livable wages and offers unaffordable health care benefits for its workers. Company leaders say the average wage of a Wal-Mart worker in Nevada is $10.23 an hour and that the company offers affordable benefits.
